In his role as Chief Financial Officer for Kempinski Hotels, Gordon Drake oversees the company’s financial operations, analysis, and risk assessment. Gordon also plays a vital role in the company’s strategic initiatives and ensures the effective utilisation of financial resources to enhance profitability and drive growth.
A noted leader in the real estate and hospitality industry, Gordon has over 30 years of global experience in corporate capital markets, asset management, risk management as well as the development and implementation of operational and financial strategy.
Gordon most recently held the position of Chief Executive Officer for The Doyle Collection, leading the company out of COVID, overseeing a revamped structure in sales and marketing, driving improved operational standards and loyalty programme participation and investing in the company’s people and culture.
Prior to joining The Doyle Collection, Gordon held the esteemed positions of Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for Europe at Westmont Hospitality Group and Chief Financial Officer of Six Senses Hotels, Resorts and Spas. Gordon also served as Chief Financial Officer and Head of M&A for Kingdom Hotel Investments in Dubai. Whilst at Kingdom, he also served on the Boards of Movenpick Hotels and Resorts as well as The Savoy Hotel, London.
Beginning his career at Ernst & Young in London and in the Treasury departments of UK FTSE companies Pearson (Media) and Hammerson (Real Estate), Gordon also served as the Group Treasurer and Corporate Finance Manager at Rocco Forte Hotels.
A British National, Gordon holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Bristol and is an Associate Chartered Accountant and Associate Member of Corporate Treasurers.
