Enjoy an inspiring evening presented in three acts, where Karin will share her passion for the bees of the Engadin region, her artistic journey and her book featuring secret recipes from the area.

Learn about the intricate structure of a bee colony, the year-round dedication required as a beekeeper and the captivating activities within the hive throughout the seasons. On 23 January 2025, explore the rich world of coffee with Daniel Badilatti, the proprietor of Graubünden oldest coffee roastery. Established in 1912, Cafè Badilatti in Zuoz embodies premium coffee craftsmanship, seamlessly blending tradition with sustainable production. Most of the coffee beans processed by Café Badilatti are sourced from small cooperatives around the equator, grown organically and cultivated under environmentally friendly and humane conditions.
Join us at 18:00 for an aperitif in the Kempinski Lobby & Bar before Daniel captivates you with stories spanning over a century of coffee history. On 11 February 2025, join us for a remarkable evening with Helga Arias, an esteemed composer and head of the Music Department at the Academia Engiadina Samedan. Helga’s music intricately blends acoustic and electronic resonances, offering innovative approaches to interactions between composers and performers while highlighting collaborative and pedagogical dimensions. Her works, published by Babel Scores, have been performed at renowned festivals and concert halls worldwide.
Begin your evening at 18:00 with an aperitif in the Grand Hotel. Helga will then guide you through her fascinating musical journey, sharing insights into her studies with renowned composers such as Beat Furrer, Javier Torres Maldonado and Karlheinz Essl. Learn about her doctoral research at the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz and her role as a Composer-in-Residence at the University of Pedagogy in Heidelberg. She will also discuss her participative installation for the pedagogical programme of the Donaueschinger Musiktage, highlighting the importance of music education and collaborative processes.

Tradition and Innovation in the Spirits World with Alexander Stein
Alexander Stein Known as the founder of the Gin brand Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin, Alexander Stein is now the third generation to run the traditional Weinbrennerei Jacobi, whose heritage dates back to 1880. In addition to his own products such as the Weinbrand JACoBI 1880, Le Freak, a vodka made from 100% German-grown potatoes, Marquis de Montesquiou, an Armagnac and Horse With No Name, a bourbon, Stein also distributes a number of selected, renowned brands from Pernod Ricard with his sales brand Jacobi Spirits.
