Berlin, 19 June 2023 – Those who want to leave the selection of the tastefully appropriate wine accompaniment to the gourmet menus served in the restaurant "Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer" to an experienced professional are in professional hands with Head Sommelier Hans-Martin Konrad at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin. What the guests of the temple of pleasure appreciate has now been officially confirmed: None other than the renowned gastronomy guide Gault&Millau awarded the wine list of the top restaurant, compiled with around 1,300 items under careful expertise, in its currently published edition for 2023 / 2024 with the "Grand Selection Award - Winelist" in the category "Best Grand Selection" as one of the 12 best in Germany. The expert jury evaluated the balance of quality, variety, origin and price-performance ratio of the wines in the overall impression of each growth.

The award is equally special for the publishers of Gault&Millau; after all, with the extensive Adlon wine list, a newly created category for the evaluation of liquid gourmet treasures is honoured for the first time, which often contribute decisively to the harmonious rounding off of a gourmet menu – according to personal preference.

The 43-year-old, passionate connoisseur of the world's tastiest wines, Hans-Martin Konrad, has been responsible for the continuously expanding international wine list with many rarities and new discoveries in the "Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer" for around 6 years. He acts thereby – under consideration of the individual food components – always in the sense of its fastidious guests after the principle "simply always only the best wines" to select.

The high-quality promise of the luxury house Adlon is reflected beside its achievement of the kitchen team around two-star cook Reto Brändli, awarded by the Gault&Millau with 4 hoods, thus immediately also in the wine list of the Gourmetrestaurant at the Brandenburger gate created with equally founded expert knowledge. The Gault&Millau 2023 / 2024 awarded it the highest rating of 5 red grapes.
