On 6 March 2024, the Mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin, awarded the title "Honorary Tourism Professional of Moscow" to Lada Samodumskaya, Director of Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow, for her achievements in tourism development and many years of conscientious work.
Lada Samodumskaya assumed the position of Director of Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow in January 2020, becoming the first Russian manager in the country and the first woman at the head of a hotel managed by an international luxury hotel operator.
During more than 30 years of work in the hospitality industry, Lada Samodumskaya has successfully developed her career from a reservation department employee to management positions in leading international five-star hotels brands. In 2000, she headed the sales department of Hotel Baltschug Kempinski, and in 2004 she opened the global sales office of Hyatt International Hotels and Resorts in Russia as Director. From 2005 to 2014, Lada Samodumskaya headed the sales and marketing department of The Ritz-Carlton, Moscow and took part in the opening of three new hotels for the company in three parts of the world: Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Since 2018, L.Samodumskaya has been Deputy Director and Commercial Director of Hotel Baltschug Kempinski, previously leading the regional sales and marketing team of Kempinski Hotels in Russia and the CIS for four years.
Lada Samodumskaya graduated from the State Academy of Management and is fluent in English. She was also educated at the Academy of the American Hotel and Motel Association, participated in the European Union's TACIS programme and the Presidential Senior Management Training Programme, including an extended internship at The Landmark and Royal Lancaster five-star hotels in London.
