Maslenitsa is one of the most vibrant and unique folk festivals, a symbol of saying goodbye to winter and welcoming spring. By custom, these days’ pancakes are served to visiting family and friends round a lavish table. This year, from 17 February to 2 March we invite you to Hotel Baltschug to celebrate Maslenitsa together!
Chef Andrey Kagokin values classic recipes, but is not afraid of experimenting. The new Maslenitsa menu merges tradition with modern gastronomic trends, creating new flavour combinations.
Try familiar and favourite dishes from your childhood: thin blini with sour cream, honey or jam; and for those who prefer savoury delicacies, with red and pike caviar. Blini with salty salmon, soft curd cheese and herbs or a variant with baked Camembert and cranberry sauce is an ideal choice for lovers of rich flavours. For those who are ready for culinary discoveries, the Chef has prepared the following pancakes with an international flair:
Dessert lovers will appreciate the airy Japanese soufflé pancakes, apple strudel blini with vanilla foam, as well as an original trio of sweet pancakes: with white chocolate mousse and mango confit, vanilla cream with strawberries and raspberry crumble, and with apple cheesecake and apple compote.
We look forward to seeing everyone at Hotel Baltschug Kempinski for pancakes!
