Cancún, Mexico, 18 April 2023 - Kempinski Hotel Cancún is commemorating 30 years of this iconic property that has represented luxury and distinguished service over the years. The resort, previously managed by the Ritz-Carlton, is one of the first luxury properties established in the area, located on one of the most pristine beaches in Cancún. Now the legacy of luxury continues, offering unmatched five-star service, attracting new guests and continuing to appeal to those returning year after year. In lieu of the celebration, the hotel will be celebrating this special anniversary at a private event
on Thursday, 20 April 2023.
The construction of the resort began in 1993 and was spearheaded by architect José Manuel Gómez Vázquez. Its recent transition to Kempinski Hotel Cancún has established a new chapter for travelers looking for selective hospitality in the destination, as the brand is bringing a new vision of luxury through its Lady in Red ambassadors, a reimagined culinary program and enhancements to its services, spa and onsite amenities.
“This historic property has exemplified luxury for 30 years, ensuring service is maintained throughout every detail for its guests,” said Aref Sayegh, General Manager for Kempinski Hotel Cancún. “We are honored to recognize a trajectory of excellence that is shown not only through the awards the resort has received, but also through the testimonials of guests who return to the property year after year.”
30 Years Marks A Legacy of Guest Recognition
The property was the first oceanfront property in the world to receive three distinct
American Automobile Association (AAA) recognitions, consisting of a five-diamond
ranking for the resort and onsite fine-dining restaurants, The Club Grill and Fantino. It was
also the only property to receive the National Quality Award (Premio Nacional de Calidad,
PNC) three times, granted by the president of Mexico. Executive Chef René Camelo, has
worked at the property since it first opened and is now spearheading the resort's culinary
offerings across its five onsite restaurants.
This iconic property is a grandiose vision in constant maintenance, grounded by its most important accolade, thirty years of guest satisfaction, much supported by several lasting staff members. In the last decade, the property has been recognized by top travel publications and organizations for exemplary guest service, including Travel + Leisure’s ‘World’s Best Awards;’ Expedia® ‘Insiders’ SelectTM’ awards; TripAdvisor ‘Travelers’ Choice Award;' and Condé Nast Traveler’s ‘The Gold List.’ Just this month, Kempinski Hotel Cancún was named the ‘The Best Hotel in Cancún Overall’ by Forbes. In addition to these recognitions, the hotel was the first and only property in Mexico to be recognized for saving the most energy for two consecutive years by Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), in continued efforts to be industry leaders in conservation.
