Bansko, 23 January 2023 – Bulgaria's best winter resort had the honour of hosting the start of the Snowboard World Cup for the third time. Despite the challenging weather conditions, the organizers managed to prepare the track for the competitions, and for two days - January 21 and 22, 80 snowboarders from 20 countries tested their strength on the Tomba track above Banderishka Polyana.
The event was attended by over 50 media representatives from over 13 countries. The Swiss Dario Caviezel triumphed in the parallel giant slalom competition, and the Italian Maurizio Bormolini won the parallel slalom. In the women's category, Julie Zug from Switzerland took first place on both days. The favourite of the Bulgarian audience, Radoslav Yankov, made his strongest performance this season and finished in fourth place.
