Qiandao Lake, located in Chun’an in the west of Hangzhou, is a manmade freshwater lake, a 1.5-hour drive from Hangzhou.
The lake covers an area of 573 sq km, and 1,078 large islands dot the lake, with a few thousand smaller ones scattered across it. Over 95% of the area is forested, and countless plants and wild animals can be found there. Qiandao Lake is aiming to be a first-class, world-famous leisure and travel destination.
