As the ancient saying goes, “In the universe, there is heaven; on earth, there is Hangzhou.” It is a beacon of modernity in one of China’s seven ancient national capitals.
Hangzhou is located close to China’s southeast coast, in the lower reaches of the Qiantang River and at the southern end of the Grand Canal (Beijing - Hangzhou). As the capital of Zhejiang Province in East China, Hangzhou is 150 km from Shanghai and is at the centre of the Yangtze River Delta.
