Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center Unveils "Gin Library" at Rendez-vous Bar & Lounge

Beijing, March 2025 – Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center has redefined luxury mixology with the launch of its "Gin Library" concept at the Rendez-vous Bar & Lounge. Featuring a curated selection of over 30 distinctive gins from global regions, paired with handcrafted flavored tonic water, it offers guests an exquisitely crafted gin-tasting experience.

The Gin Library’s crafted menu spans iconic London dry gins from century-old distilleries, experimental Nordic Arctic micro-batch editions, and German Black Forest gins infused with forest spring water and mystical botanicals, offering a sip of terroir from every corner of the world.

The hotel’s Head Mixologist draws inspiration from the Five Elements philosophy of the Yijing (Book of Changes) to debut a signature cocktail series: "Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth". Each gin-based cocktail harmonizes aesthetics and flavors with Eastern geomancy, inviting guests to explore the "Five Elements of Gin".

For curious minds, mixologists share stories of gin’s millennium-long evolution—from medicinal tonic to cultural icon—unveiling Dutch windmill traditions and British copper still techniques. Guests may also savor private moments, enjoy the layered flavor guided by the tasting notes through bespoke tasting journals.

Mladen Sinjeri, Hotel Manager of Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center and project lead of the "Gin Library", remarks: "We aim to create more than a drink—it’s a memorable journey. Guests leave not just relaxed, but inspired by gin’s cultural tapestry and the interplay of Eastern and Western philosophies."

The bar’s redesign amplifies the "Gin Library" ethos with a botanical-core aesthetic. Over 20 gin botanicals—juniper, coriander, citrus, and more—are reimagined as kinetic light-art installations. Guests are enveloped in a hybrid space evoking an 18th-century European botanist’s studio or a Zen garden’s meditative enclave.

"Post-renovation, the 'Gin Library' will elevate with immersive experiences," adds Mladen. "Upcoming highlights include Gin Flights (themed tasting sets), limited-edition Masterclasses on gin history, cultural salons, and interactive distillation workshops—redefining the boundaries of a traditional bar.
