Our Practices

We prioritize the preservation of environment, the responsible use of resources, and respect for our region's culture. To significantly reduce energy and water consumption and manage waste effectively, we have implemented best sustainability practises, technologies and certifications.

Green Globe Certification

We are proud to be part of Green Globe, one of the most prestigious sustainability programs in the hotel industry. In 2024, we achieved certification in the Hotel and Resort category, which evaluates the sustainability performance of travel and tourism businesses and their supply chain partners. Additionally, we earned Green Globe Gold Status, reflecting our commitment to excellence in sustainable operations. This certification enables us to track our progress and showcase our achievements in responsible management and environmental stewardship.

Green Collection Recognition

Our hotel is honored to be recognized as part of the Green Collection, a group of hotels dedicated to fostering a sustainable future. Supported by esteemed environmental organizations, these hotels consistently evaluate their operational practices and implement processes that prioritize the well-being of future generations. Each property in the Green Collection has achieved at least one globally recognized certification, including EarthCheck, Green Growth 2050, Green Key, Green Globe, and Green Seal. As a Green Globe certified hotel, we are proud to be a member of the GHA Discovery Program’s Green Collection.

Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp

In alignment with the UAE's Year of Sustainability, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has introduced the ‘Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp.’ This initiative honors hotels that demonstrate exceptional compliance with DET’s 19 Sustainability Requirements, further establishing Dubai as a premier sustainable tourism destination. In 2024, we proudly achieved silver status for the “Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp.”

LEED Certification

We are proud to be part of the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program, the world’s most recognized green building rating system. LEED certification offers a comprehensive framework for developing healthy, energy-efficient, and cost-effective buildings, resulting in substantial environmental, social, and governance benefits.

Local Supply Chain and Culinary Excellence

We are deeply committed to culinary diversity and sophistication, which is why our talented chefs prioritize sustainable sourcing and local suppliers. Our goal is to provide our guests with the freshest and most authentic products available.

In collaboration with Nespresso Middle East, we recycle used coffee capsules at BEE’AH’s recycling facility in Sharjah. Utilizing a custom-designed separation machine, we effectively separate aluminium from coffee grounds, enabling the aluminium to be reused and the coffee grounds to enrich local farms.

Reducing Plastic and Enhancing Recycling

We are committed to creating a more sustainable supply chain by eliminating single-use plastics and strengthening our recycling practices where sustainable alternatives are not feasible. We have replaced plastic straws with biodegradable options and utilize biodegradable paper cups for takeaway drinks in our responsible food and beverage operations.

Sustainable Turn-Down Service

To enhance our sustainability efforts, we now provide turn-down service exclusively upon request. This initiative allows us to conserve resources and minimize waste. If you would like to request turn-down service or have any questions, please feel free to contact our reception. Our team is dedicated to ensuring your stay is as comfortable as possible.

Salvatore Ferragamo Amenities

Our partnership with Salvatore Ferragamo has enabled us to replace all plastic bottles, caps, and dispensers in our hotel rooms with recycled materials, significantly enhancing our sustainability efforts and reducing waste. Additionally, other room amenities are now presented in recyclable boxes instead of plastic covers, and we provide bamboo combs and toothbrushes.

Bed Linen Reuse Program

At Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, we are committed to preserving our precious natural resources. Guests can make a meaningful impact by participating in our linen reuse program. Fresh linens and towels will be replaced every other day unless guests indicate a daily change by placing the card on their pillow each morning. Our laundry team also uses cloth bags for the collection and delivery of items.

Sustainable Room Cards

We have replaced plastic room cards with eco-friendly bamboo alternatives, further reducing our environmental footprint.

Filtration Machines

To promote sustainability in our back-of-house operations, we have implemented filtration machines to eliminate the need for water from plastic gallons.

Corporate Social Responsibility

We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment for all our guests. Our fully equipped rooms and accessible ramps ensure exceptional experiences for individuals of determination.

Community Engagement 

In partnership with the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), our hotel team actively participates in the annual “Clean Up UAE” initiative every December. We also support global sustainable development goals through various initiatives focused on employee wellness and health awareness campaigns.

As part of our ongoing CSR efforts and dedication to nurturing the next generation in hospitality, we recently hosted students from GEMS Education School, winners of the Future Hotel Expo held at our hotel on June 4, 2024. To celebrate their achievement, the winning students enjoyed a special lunch with our General Manager and several members of the executive committee.

During Ramadan, we extend our hospitality to orphans and children with special needs from the SENSES Center, inviting them to join us for iftar. We also make regular visits to the center to spend quality time and play with the children, reinforcing our commitment to inclusivity and community support.

Charity

One of our proudest achievements is our annual Christmas Stollen bake sale, which has raised over 1 million AED since our hotel’s opening, in collaboration with the Red Crescent and Mall of the Emirates. Additionally, our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony provides a platform for young musicians to showcase their talents and engage with the community.

In the frame of our partnership with Al Jalila Foundation in 2024, we proudly celebrated Pink October welcoming board members and breast cancer survivors and collected proceeds to support breast cancer patients. Additionally, we hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness talk for our team, featuring vital information on early detection and prevention from First Response Healthcare.
