Kru Parn’s imaginary heavenly realm of Bangkok city, known as the ‘City of Angels’ was inspired by the grace and elegance of Thai angels, birds and floral artistry characters. With the use of vibrant summer colours, fun shapes and characters, the all-new ‘City of Angles’ Afternoon Tea will inspire guests to escape from the vibrant city of Bangkok into their heavenly magical moments, as well as experience the five senses throughout this fascinating journey.
Chef Franck and Kru Parn’s vision was a Thai-inspired perspective meets classic European. This special edition afternoon tea set brings the beauty and charm of fairies from heaven into a bold colour combination. Kru Parn’s creation of a sweet and elegant angel figure full of fun, excitement and confidence in the concept of magical moments with the ‘City of Angles’, coupled with Chef Franck's expert blends of traditional Thai flavours with French pastry techniques, offers a truly memorable and delectable experience.
The ‘City of Angels’ Afternoon Tea features 22 unique miniature sweet and savoury items that come in all fun shapes, shades and colours. The savoury selection features famous Thai ingredients and familiar tastes, with highlights such as the ‘Alaskan King Crab and Pomelo Yum Tartlet’ with the tangy sweetness of pomelo in the Thai sweet and sour Yum flavour presented in a ‘Krathong Tong’ basket with Avruga caviar and edible flower garnish. Additionally, the famous ‘Chicken Satay Crispy Toast’ with a chicken satay mousse infused with fragrant spices and ‘Acar’ condiments is an absolute delight. The ‘Duck Curry Longan’ is another tasteful dish you cannot miss with duck breast and red curry mousse in a longan and presented in a ‘Krao Tang’ crispy rice cracker with lime caviar.
Equally impressive are the sweet delights, with the light and airy ‘Pineapple Vanilla Paris Brest,’ boasting a sweet pineapple filling. The ‘Lychee Raspberry Rose Chocolate Cream and Fresh Raspberry’ offers a burst of floral and Thai-famous lychee fruity flavours in every bite, and the ‘Pandan Coconut Opera Cake’ is another standout, with delicate sponge cake layers and a creamy coconut filling.
