Bangkok, September 2022 – Luxuriant greenery that encircles Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok spills into its award-winning lobby. Guests are invited to indulge in a new afternoon tea inspired by the surrounding nature at the Lobby Lounge.
The Verdant Afternoon Tea takes its cue from this environmentally-focused hotel's lush garden with a presentation that highlights a leafy tree on a layered base made from the coconut husk. Hanging from its branches and around its are savoury and sweet treats for the picking, enveloped in a mist of dry ice. In addition to the not-to-be-missed scones with clotted cream, strawberry jam and lemon curd, the enticing specialities include Foie Gras Roll on a brioche, Shrimp Cocktail Wafer with mango and tobiko and The Quenelle of soybean cream, carrot jelly and almond sable.
The delicacies are the creations of Executive Pastry Chef Paul Kelly, whose experience includes heading the pastry kitchens of leading hotels in various countries. Chef Kelly initiated the concept of sustainability and the environment for the previous afternoon tea offerings to go with the green lobby ambience, which proved to be a big hit with guests during the past two years. This new tea menu continues with the nature theme.
Enjoy the delectable bites with premium tea prepared by a tea master while revelling in the fresh and relaxing atmosphere of the Lobby Lounge. The Verdant Afternoon Tea set is available daily from 14:00 to 17:00. It is THB 2,300++ for two persons.
THB 100 from every tea set sold on Wednesdays goes to the Foundation for the Blind as part of The Melody of Giving Back programme whereby a sight-challenged pianist performs at tea time.
