At the heart of this celebration lies The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore, Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES, beckoning visitors to step back in time and Rediscover Through Lenses of the Past. From a bespoke afternoon tea at The Capitol Kempinski Singapore, savouring a curated five-course afternoon tea, to a guided tour through the storied history of CHIJMES, every corner holds a tale waiting to be discovered.

Guests are invited to indulge in a delightful afternoon tea, brimming with sweet and savoury delights inspired by Singapore's rich culinary heritage. Priced at S$52 on weekdays and S$58 on weekends and public holidays, this afternoon tea offers the perfect opportunity to unwind.

From 1 to 26 May  2024, The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore's Lobby Lounge presents “Our Storied Past: Heritage Tour and Afternoon Tea”, where the five-course Afternoon Tea is made more exciting with the addition of an exclusive walking tour, every Wednesday and Saturday at 5pm. With no additional charges, guests can join a special guided tour led by Heritage Curator, Jean, after the delightful Afternoon Tea. This immersive experience takes guests through the grand halls and corridors of The Capitol Kempinski Singapore, exploring iconic sites such as the historic Capitol Theatre, a cinematic gem that has stood the test of time. The journey continues with a stroll through the enchanting precinct of CHIJMES, where centuries of history come to life amidst the charming and serene architecture.

A Sip from the Past at The Bar at 15 Stamford

Crafted with passion and precision, the bar’s signature cocktail, PLANTATION 1840, inspired by the illustrious life of Joseph Balestier, the first US Consul to Singapore, and his wife, Maria Balestier, daughter of Paul Revere, American Civil War midnight rider, offers a bold yet refreshing experience for both familiar and new patrons. The magic of cinema transports guests back to the past on 10 May with local filmmaker, Royston Tan, as he bridges the past and the present on the silver screen. Renowned for his passion for historic tales, Tan presents a curated list of films featuring the Capitol Theatre, an iconic 94-year dream palace, celebrating Singapore's greatest cinematic space. The evening marks a homecoming for Tan, as he unveils his acclaimed works like, 'Bunga Sayang', showcased in the anthology '7 Letters' at the Capitol Theatre, coinciding with the cinema's 94th  anniversary this month. In collaboration with Chuan Pictures and Capitol Singapore, Royston at Capitol goes beyond mere entertainment, offering an immersive experience. The evening culminates in an engaging Q&A dialogue session with Tan himself, offering audiences a unique opportunity to gain insights behind these iconic films and the inspiration drawn from the Capitol Theatre.
