200 km of the Best Prepared Cross-Country Trails

The Upper Engadin is heaven for cross-country skiers, with its superb combination of spectacular landscapes, trails of outstanding quality, and, of course, the all-important guarantee of snow.

Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains enjoys a fantastic position at one of the main intersections of ski-trails in the high valley. Surrounded by 200 kilometres of cross-country trails, the hotel is the perfect place for seasoned skiers and novices alike to take to the slopes.

Head to the cross-country centre in the park to rent cross-country skis, book your lessons and get detailed trail maps and the most recent information about the trails and snow conditions.

Be sure to plan some after-dark skiing with the night trail from 5.30 pm until 9.00 pm. Taking you directly alongside the hotel and beautifully illuminated all the way, it's a truly unforgettable experience.

From one of the longest loops in the Engadin near Zuoz to the Direttissima (the 'direct route') across the three lakes, there's a route to appeal to every skier. More ambitious skiers shouldn't miss the chance to train on the legendary route - the 42 most famous kilometres of trail in Switzerland - where they'll tackle the picturesque side valleys or enjoy a circuit on the racing route near St. Moritz.

After gliding through the serene landscapes of Cross-Country Skiing, shift your adventure to the exhilarating world of Tobogganing & Hiking. Feel the rush of descending on a toboggan run that twists and turns through snowy forests, or lace up your hiking boots to explore winter trails that offer peaceful solitude and invigorating fresh air. Each path invites you to experience the winter wonderland of St. Moritz from different perspectives.
