Get ready to discover 87 World Cup standard slopes and pistes

The Engadin area is not only a paradise and playground for skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels, but a breathtakingly beautiful destination in its own right.

Corviglia/Piz Nair, Diavolezza/Lagalb and Corvatsch are just some of the ski areas to be discovered in the Engadin Valley. With some 350km (217 miles) of slopes to explore, you'll never be stuck for options - and there's always a new challenge to take on.

With all the superb snowsports facilities on your doorstep, don't forget to make time for lunch! The Engadin region is almost as famous for its gastronomy as its skiing, with rustic but stylish alpine restaurants serving up unforgettable twists on traditional specialities.

CORVIGLIA/PIZ NAIR
Directly opposite the hotel, the Signalbahn is the perfect funicular to bring you into the famous Corviglia skiing area.

World-class pistes, delicious food, and the stunning peak of Piz Nair rising over it all: it's not hard to see why the Corviglia/Piz Nair area is one of the most popular and well-regarded in the world of snow sports. From the top of the mountain, skiers have a commanding view over the whole of the valley.

The funicular from Dorf, cable car and chair from Bad, and the gondola and chair from Celerina all provide easy access to Corviglia. Ascend early to experience the "White Carpet" - the first run down the pristine piste - and the stunning sunrise over the Engadine valley all at once.

It is a fantastic area for intermediate skiers, filled with cruising runs and a few challenging black runs. The "high-speed" piste offers the chance to measure your top speed for free, as many times as you like. Snowboarders also shouldn't miss the area's snow park, which has a combination of easy and advanced lines, and a range of over 30 obstacles to play with.

Corviglia Snow Park
The Snow Park up on the Corviglia is the ultimate freestyle playground, packed with variety. Extremely well maintained, it is full of cool features, starting with the perfectly designed line for the first three consecutive kicks. The park also has a wide range of rails and boxes, a corner and hits of all sizes: freestyle heaven!

CORVATSCH
Corvastsch boasts some of the best conditions in the whole region, as well as the highest lift in the valley – ascending to a massive 3,305m. The cruise run from the top is always popular, and there are plenty of opportunities for freeriding in the area too.

Turn up on a Friday evening and experience a real feast for the eyes, as the lights go on for party time at Switzerland's longest-illuminated piste! The sound of music and the scent of mulled wine mingles with the fresh alpine air as snow bars pop up along the run. Snow Night is the place to be for fun-loving skiers in St Moritz.

Snowpark Corvatsch
Now snowboarders and skiers alike can show off all their tricks. The wide variety of kickers and rails is superbly maintained, and the quarter-pipe is the place to put on a big show.

DIAVOLEZZA/LAGALB
This pair of linked mountains in the Bernina Valley can be reached by train or bus from St Moritz. Diavolezza offers two amazing on-piste descents, as well as a vast expanse of off-piste terrain to explore in the Val Arlas (hiring a guide is recommended!) It is as much worth coming for the incredible scenery as the skiing.

Across the valley, and accessible via a drag-lift, Lagalb is no less beautiful and offers two stellar red runs for those who like to go fast, and a more complex black run for the more advanced skier.

A special mention must also go to the "Glüna Plaina", or full moon skiing available at Diavolezza. Skiing the silent slopes down to the valley at night, lit up by the silvery light of the full moon, is an experience you will never forget.
